Hello everyone, my name is Alexa Chang! I am in the class of 2025 at Santa Clara University, majoring in Computer Science. I chose to take SCU's ENGR 110 as a way to show empathy and compassion to the communities around me. Although it is important to learn the necessary skills within my major, it is equally, if not more important, to apply them to real-world situations. ENGR 110 allows me to use what I have learned/experienced to make the world a better place no matter how small the impact may be.

About ENGR 110

ENGR 110: Community Based Engineering Design

"This course combines engineering design with service learning to provide students with practical engineering experience while working on a project that solves a real problem in the community. Teams of engineering students interface directly with clients within the community partner organization. Work on projects will span all phase of the engineering design process and some projects may extend into several quarters or years. Teams are designed to be vertically integrated including team members at various levels, and prior experience in the course will enable students to assume leadership roles."
